This isn't a forum for new roleplayers, but if you are relatively new and think that you can post a couple of paragraphs {at least} per post, you're of course welcome. :)

This is a small roleplaying guide to help you with your roleplaying. I hope it aids you in some way. (:

So you want to roleplay? Well, first off, what is roleplaying?

Roleplaying is where you're writing a story with others on a forum. You can only control your own character's point of view and most forums are done in third person.

We are one of the forums who write in third person. It can get quite confusing when you write in first person, indeed.

Now, there are certain things you should pay attention to when you're posting.

» Make sure you're only controlling your character.

» Spell check is your friend! Use it if you have a habit of making typos or if you aren't the greatest speller. It makes it a lot easier for others to understand your posts and it makes it look a lot better as well. (:

» This is a little simple, but necessary. Make sure to put your dialogue in "quotations". I've seen some people just put it in bold, but when do you ever read a book with the dialogue in bold? It really does help if it's in quotations.

» On that note, some put their character's thoughts in 'quotations' {different quotations than the dialogue}, while others put them in italics. Both are fine. (:

» Describe as much as you can! Of course, sometimes there can be an overload, but don't just stick to one or two senses all the time. Think about what your character is seeing, touching, smelling, hearing or tasting, as well as how they feel about all of those things. Of course, you don't need to describe everything with all five sentences all the time, but it helps to vary which senses you describe in your posts from time to time.

» On the note of talking about how your character is feeling, this is very beneficial! It makes your character a lot more believable if whoever is reading your post can see where they're coming from with their motives and how they feel about everything around them.

» So you know how to write a decent sized post, describing everything and what your character is feeling. But what are they feeling and doing? Well, this is where drama comes in. Sometimes too much drama can be a little overboard or illogical, but a little drama always spices up your post and makes it more fun. (: It helps to discuss with who you're roleplaying with about how the thread will go, but other times, you don't have to and can just go along the dramatic flow {though posting some interesting history/thoughts in your plot pages helps}.

I hope this helped in some way. If you have anything you'd like to be added or any questions, don't hesitate to PM one of the admin. :)
